The students are learning to Code in our ICT program. They have used the site www. code.org and worked on giving instructions to make animals and people move. Each time they complete one set of instructions they go onto the next phase.
Some of the comments that the children have exclaimed are: “ Is this how they make games? I thought they just drew pictures!” “This is much harder to do than I thought.” The new Victorian Curriculum introduces Digital Technologies.
In Digital Technologies, students use computational thinking and information systems to analyse, design and develop digital solutions. The Digital Technologies curriculum recognises coding (programming) as one of the skills to support learning in this area.
