Welcome to Norris Bank Primary School
Principal's Welcome
Welcome to the Norris Bank Primary School website. We hope that you find it informative, and that from it you will be able to gain an understanding of the characteristics which make our school unique. The school is proud of its long history of delivering a quality education, and its commitment to the welfare of its students. We strive to build and sustain strong relationships as the core of the school’s ethos, and to provide school programs which engage students in their learning and foster peer and school connectedness.
In 2006 the school participated in the Year of Review and Planning as part of the Accountability and Improvement Framework. The Strategic Plan 2007 – 2010 sets clear goals in the areas of Student Learning, Student Engagement and Wellbeing and Student Pathways and Transitions. The school is extremely proud of its achievements in the area of student wellbeing, which has been a major focus for the last two years. The appointment of a Primary Welfare Officer in 2005 and a very active Student Wellbeing coordinator and staff team has assured that strategies have been effectively implemented, monitored and evaluated. The school has recently developed a comprehensive Learning Continuum which is delivered through an integrated inquiry approach to Student Learning. Staff professional learning is a high priority and is focussed around meeting the school’s goals in enhancing learning outcomes in the areas of student wellbeing, numeracy, catering for individual difference and engagement.
Over the next four years the school will:
- Explore ways to continue to enhance student well-being and engagement.
- Focus on the core business of literacy and numeracy learning.
- Develop links with our neighbouring schools and share ‘best practice’.
- Harness resources within the local community for the good of the school.
- Explore and apply the principles of ‘sustainability’ and environmental action.
- Develop its students as responsible global citizens with the ability to show respect and behave according to the school’s values.

During the term break we had synthetic turf laid on the old asphalt basketball court. The funding came from the Federal Government's National Schools Pride Program. We all love our brightly coloured new basketball court!
