Performing Arts – Term 3 Outline
Grade Prep – Children will be:
• Learning annual school concert songs.
• Identifying beat, pitch and tempo.
• Action poems and fairytales.
Grade 1 and 2 – Children will be:
• Learning annual school concert songs.
• Making a variety of action and shadow puppets. The puppets will be used for short improvisations and to act out familiar poems/stories.
Grade 3 and 4 – Children will be:
• Learning annual school concert songs.
• Making a variety of action and shadow puppets. The puppets will be used for various improvisations.
• Make short acts using poetry.
• Design and use a table top theatre for a puppet show.
Grade 5 and 6 – Children will be:
• Learning annual school concert songs.
• Making various Asian puppets eg. Bhoot Doll. The puppets will be used to recreate various Asian folktales.
• Design and use a table top theatre for a puppet show. Considering scene, set and props.
