Grades 1/2 Learning - Term 3
This term our integrated topic is called "Using Puppets to Tell Stories". This unit compliments our performing arts program centred around our school concert titled "100 Years Young!"
Students have begun using their puppets to create characters and write creative stories to perform.
During reading sessions the grade 1/2 students have been focusing on developing comprehension strategies such as finding the main idea and recalling facts and details about stories they are reading.
In maths the grade 1/2 students are working hard to consolidate their understanding of number facts to 20 and their knowledge of place value. The children regularly engage in activities and games designed to develop these concepts.
