Community Hall

History

In 1982 the Norris Bank School Council formed a Hall Committee to plan and organise for the funding and construction of a school Community Hall, in partnership with the State Government and Whittlesea Council. A dedicated and determined group of community members met regularly to conduct Bingo nights to raise the funds towards the school’s contribution.

The Community Hall was officially opened by the Premier of Victoria, Mr John Cain, on the 9th March 1984. For many years the Hall was managed by an elected committee of community stakeholders. In the early 1990s the management of the Community Hall became the sole responsibility of the School Council. The Hall is now known as the John and Bev Mann Community Hall in recognition of the years of service to the school and the Bundoora community by John and Bev Mann.

Facilities

The Community Hall contains a full-size basketball court with retractable rings, a large stage, kitchen, foyer, meeting room with toilet/bathroom, storage areas and public toilets. There is ample parking on the asphalt areas of the school grounds for most functions.
